This was my first outdoor ride of the year. I rode out from the Inn to meet Mark Boyd who was riding from Asheville to the Bicycle Inn. Mark actually rode from Asheville to the Mount Mitchell Golf Course where a mutual friend, Don Patterson, lives. Don ran the restaurant atop Mt. Mitchell for years and now ladles out the soup atop Mt. Mitchell after the Assault. So Mark spent a night at Don's and then continued via the Blue Ridge Parkway to Crabtree where we met up. I rode about 18 out & 18 back. This is the point where Mark and I rendezvoused. Highway 19-E and Young's Mountain Music We ride a short mile on 19-E to Arbuckle Road. Roan Mountain is out there. Chris Boone has to work instead of ride. Crossing the Toe on the new bridge looking at the old. The Toe River and the old bridge for 80. Highway 80---Behind us is the Black Mountain Range and the Toe. Now it's lunch time at Dot's Sandwich and Coffee Shop in Bakersville! I think Dot's working on my "tuna wrap".
