The 2011 "Chatham 3 Ring Cycle" bicycle ride is brought to
us by the Chatham Habitat For Humanity!
The video above contains all the
pictures below - with music.

Many people
consider Pittsboro, NC to be the center of the universe.

Historical Pittsboro and Chatham County

Let's extend some hands and some legs
and build a home.

Bill or some of the ladies will sign
you up.

Bett might take your picture.

Refreshments and help are plentiful.

The volunteers are great!

Drink up. It's a warm one today.

This young whipper-snapper has a
picture of my girl-friend on his arm.

Chicago skyline!

TJ and Patrick are revving their
engines.

The Chatham 3 Ring is becoming a fast
favorite for many.

Familiar faces abound.

My brother Ken! We're twins!

The "man in red" rode hard all day.

The ride starts pretty fast.

We just manage to get on!

We had to work hard - fast!

Tough crowd today!

We fly by the first SAG support.

And in 12 miles I'm cut from the herd.

The terrain is easy now though.

I'm holding a 19 mph average -about.

That's fast enough for being alone.

I'm glad I got dropped.

We were working so hard I couldn't take
a picture.

This is more like it.

These were the only fans we saw-
besides the volunteers.

So, what's moo with you?

We had lots of scenery and horizons.

TJ, Pat, and some others rescue me from
a solo ride.

I recognize some of these seasoned
vets.

I wish I could ride hard and smile like
that!

There's a lot of difference between
riding behind a stream of cyclists and riding solo.

Friends are up ahead. They stopped at
the rest stop.

I'll drop off this pack to be part of a
beautiful trio.

It's a beautiful day!

Nobody can hide pain like some women!
She's having fun!

I failed to capture this beautiful
view.

I should have shot more to the left.
You just can't depend on "20 MPH photography".

The "metric" route splits off to the
right. Our "century" goes straight.

I miss a picture of a restaurant and
row of buildings. But- the shadows look nice.

That's some good-looking corn!

We'll stop for a refill.

We replenish and pick up a couple of
riders to help with the pulls.

Five is better than three!

Looks like everyone has the same
cadence.

Another stop won't hurt. Ken thinks 20
minutes or so were spent off the bike.

TJ and Patrick wave as TJ promised.
They would finish just ahead of us. Over-all time 5:40.

Everyone has a turn at the front.

We're a well oiled machine.

Another stop for refreshments. The
"stops" really work for me. My pains subside a bit.

"Prepare" - "get ready".

The road is a ribbon through beautiful
landscape.

Rusty tin roofs add architecture to the
flora.

God bless that smile son! I wish I
could smile!

AaaaaaaaH!

The beat goes on.

The ribbon is endless.

We're in "good company"!

Some bream for dinner would be nice.

The "man in red" rode hard all day!

I try to remember the town of "Silk
Hope" with this picture.

If feels so good when we quit!

100 miles - real time finish was after
5:40

My GARMEN GPS says our time spent on
the bike was 5 hours and 12 minutes.

We had 4200 accumulative feet of
elevation gain.

A cool drink can be had.

Habitat for Humanity and the 3 Ring
Cycle rock!

I bet that's a "mango icy".

A great time was had by all!
