Groovin'---on a Bikefest afternoon.
Really---couldn't get away too soon.
I can't imagine anything that's better.
The world is ours when we're together.
There ain't no place I'd like to be instead of
Groovin'---down a crowded avenue.
Doin'---anything we'd like to do.

There's always lots of things that we can see.
We can be anyone we want to be.
All those happy people we could meet,
Just groovin---on a bikefest afternoon.
Really---couldn't get away too soon.
No, no, no, no. Ah,ah,ah. Ah,ah, ah. Ah,ah,ah.

We'll keep on spending sunny days this way.
We're gonna talk and laugh our time away.
I feel it comin' closer, day by day.
Life will be ecstasy, you and me endlessly.
Groovin'---on a Bikefest afternoon.
Really---couldn't get away too soon.

Well they call me the "Breeze".
I keep blowin' down the road.

They call me the "Breeze".
I keep blowin' down the road.

I ain't got me nobody.
I ain't carryin' me no load.

There ain't no change in the weather.
Ain't no change in me.

There ain't no change in the weather.
Ain't no change in me.

I ain't hidin' from nobody.
Ain't nobody hidin' from me.

I've got that green light baby.
I've got to be movin' on.

I've got that green light baby.
I've got to be movin' on.

I might go off to Hurdle Mills.
Or maybe over to Eflin, I don't know.

Chain, chain, chain. Chain, chain, chain. Chain, chain, chain.
Chain of fools.

For five long years., I thought I was your man.
But I found out, lo, I'm just a link in your chain.

You've got me where you want me. I ain't nothin' but your fool.
You treated me mean. Oh,you treated me cruel.

Chain, chain, chain. Chain, chain, chain. Chain, chain, chain.
Chain of fools.

Every chain, has got a weak link,
I might be weak child, but I feel the strain.

You told me to leave you alone.
My mother said come on home.
My doctor said, "take it easy",
Ah but your cadence is much too strong.

I'm added to your chain, chain, chain.

The only time I feel the pain,
Is in the sunshine or the rain.
And I don't feel no hurt at all,
Unless you count when teardrops fall.
I tell the truth, 'cept when I lie.
It only hurts me when I cry.

You couldn't tell it by the smile.
But my recovery took a while.
I worked both days and nights on end,
Just to walk and talk again.
You can't believe the time it takes,
Yeah, to heal a heart once it breaks.

Well maybe every now and then.
I'll have a small heartache again.
You wouldn't know to look at me.
Those tiny scars that you can't see.
It was a struggle to survive.
Yeah, I'm prob'ly lucky I'm alive.

When you found somebody new, I thought I never would,
Forget you for I thought then, that I never would.
But time has taken all my pain away.
Until now, I'm only hurtin' once a day.

Once a day, all day long.
And once a night,
From dusk to dawn
The only time, I wish that you weren't gone,
Is once a day, every day, all day long.

And I'm so glad I'm not like a friend, I knew one time.
He lost the one he loved and slowly lost his mind.
He sat around and cried his life away.
Look at me, I'm only hurtin' once a day.

Once a day, every day, all day long.

Hello happiness again.
I've been wondering where in the world you've been.
It's good to see you my long lost friend.
Hello happiness again.
Can't believe what I see
In this mirror that I'm lookin' in.
There's a smile on my face,
Ain't seen it since I don't know when.
When I lost you girl, I felt my whole world fall apart.
You left me behind, trying to find, pieces of my broken heart.

I've really got to use, my imagination,
To think of good reasons, to keep on keepin' on.
I've gotta make the best of, a bad situation,
Ever since that day, I woke up and found that you were gone.
Darkness all around me, blockin' out the sun.
My friends all call me, but I just don't feel like talkin' to anyone.
Emptiness has found me, and it just won't let me go.
I go right on spinnin', but why, I just don't know.

Now ain't it a shame all the tears that people cry?
We ain't got it right in all of these years.
There must be a way to live a better life
And break all of these chains and get out of here.

You've got to love God, you've got to love yourself,
You've got to love your brother, and everybody else.
You've got to walk that walk, you can't just talk that talk.
You've got to love God, and everybody else.

Heard some people say that all we need is love.
It sounds so simple but it's true.
Well maybe today it'll rain down love from above
And wash us clean and make us new.

But you've got to love God, you've got to love yourself,
You've got to love your brother, and everybody else.
You've got to walk that walk, you can't just talk that talk.
You've got to love God, and everybody else.
