Thanksgiving Day Pancake Ride

Thanksgiving Day Bicycle Ride

Mike Wolk is visible through the fog.

A lot of the usual suspects are present.

The ride heads right out East Bay.

Coastal Cyclists president Jane and an "Army Strong" rider!

Now it's up "Wonders Way" or the Ravenel Bridge over to Mount Pleasant!

We leave beautiful Charleston behind us for just a while.

We climb a couple hundred feet back into the fog.

Even early on Thanksgiving Day the "Bridge" is popular with the runners and walkers.

We're riding in a cloud!

Dark and not dark!

Shem Creek

Aw- the camera didn't reset fast enough.

It was a big herd going through Mount Pleasant.

There were 80 or so riders-plus, who turned out to make Turkey Day a little easier for over-eaters.

Beautiful neighborhoods with Live Oaks all around- my favorite trees!

Okay- single file everybody!

Left turn y'all!

Okay now- everybody on the sidewalk!

Okay- somebody on the sidewalk.

"Army Strong" Dude!

A new bridge to Sullivans Island is coming.

Too early for O'Leary's Bar!

Chris Dude!

The sun is out to stay!

Keep your chin up Chris!

Downtown Isle of Palms

30 milers split from the 60 milers.

Paul is one of the toughest guys in Chuck Town!

Jane's blow-out is coming right up!

She's pretty though.

Four riders wait for the tire and tube repair. I put two patches on a big hole in the tire.

We form a well-oiled machine but the main group ahead would not be caught unless they want to be caught.

Some of the riders from the main field come back for us.

One is Chris Dude of Low Country Racing.

Wahoo!

If they could get shed of all this water around Charleston it would be a great place!

Pacing and hanging on!

There's even a sprint up here somewhere!

This gentleman pulled hard and long on Rifle Range Road.

Shem Creek again- and we're almost home again!

Seventy something miles- but it felt like eighty!
