From Asheville, NC:
Take 19/23N to 19E to Spruce Pine.
Turn left onto 226N to Bakersville.
In Bakersville turn right at the only stop light onto N. Mitchell Ave.
From Marion, NC:
Take 226North or 221North to 226North into Bakersville.
Never take 226A!
In Spruce Pine 226 North turns left onto 19E.
Due to construction this is not always clear.
226N will make a right turn 2 traffic lights later.
In Bakersville turn right at the only stop light onto N. Mitchell Ave.
From Johnson City, TN:
Take Interstate I-26 to exit 32 to 173.
From the off-ramp turn left onto 173.
.2 mile turn right at T intersection.
Approx. 1 mile turn left onto 107 (becomes 226 at NC State line).
Remain on 107 as 173 turns left at Limestone Cove. and continue into Bakersville. Turn right at the blinking light then left at the stop light onto N. Mitchell Ave.
From Roan Mountain, TN:
From 19E turn onto 143 (turns into 261 at NC State line) then continue into Bakersville. Go straight thru the blinking light and turn left at the stop light onto N. Mitchell Ave.
In Bakersville-Once you are on N. Mitchell Ave:
(also called Cane Creek Rd.)
Turn left at the Clarissa Community Center (2 miles on the left) on Green Young Cemetery Rd.
Now take the 2nd road to the right (5/10 mile) Dallas Young Rd.,
then 3/10 mile to The Bicycle Inn.
The quickest way from 95 in SC is to take 26 from 95, then I-85 in Spartanburg to 221 to Marion and 226 will join 221. Stay on 226- never take 226A.
The quickest way from Charlotte and Winston Salem is to take 40 as soon as possible to 221 and then 226.
The quickest as well as prettiest way from Atlanta is to take 85 to SC highway 11 and then 25 to I-26.
You'll miss Greenville and be glad you did.
Watch the speed limit carefully through Walhalla.
