Chris Boone |
Hospice of Mitchell County goes to great lengths to care for its
terminally ill patients. |
After staying awake one night in the Fall of 1999, Chris proposed that he break the record for riding the "Blue Ridge Parkway" that snakes from Cherokee, NC to Rockfish Gap near Waynesboro, VA. The record- 31 & 1/2 hours. |
He would do
this as a much needed fund raiser for Hospice. |

After another 20 miles of climbing and descending Chris was rewarded with a 17 mile downhill to Asheville which meant hills and downhills to the "Folk Art Center" and then about 20 miles of continuous climbing to Craggy. |

Chris found a little love at Gillespie Gap. |

And then the rains came! |

| The rain slowed at Doughton Park. |

At mile-marker 140 a prayer-circle was formed. |

It's important that we break the "Parkway" record. |
But it's more important that we pray for MaLeah right now. |

At the "Peaks of Otter in the fog and rain and cold wearing wet cycling shorts and a short-sleevejersey, Chris said, "I'm cold". |

"You can smell the barn from here Chris" |
"Let's go home!" |
